About us

We are residents on the Isle of Wight since 2002. The Isle of Wight is an English island and county in the English Channel between three and five miles from the south coast of Great Britain. It is situated south of the county of Hampshire and is separated from mainland England by the Solent.

As humans invade and exploit the planet’s few remaining wild places, we often collide with wildlife – and the wildlife comes off worst. Life in the wild can be hard and each year thousands of wild animals suffer either directly or indirectly from man's activities.

Those which are brought to our attention are the lucky ones, but many go unnoticed and are left to endure the agonies of a slow and horrible death. If you see an animal in distress, please don’t close your eyes. Please try to help and phone a Wildlife Sanctuary or Bird Rehabilitation Centre to get advice.

Favourite Quotes:

"Anyone who says that life matters less to animals than it does to us has not held an animal fighting for it's life. The whole of the being of the animal is thrown into that fight, without reserve".

Elizabeth Costello in "The Lives of Animals" by J. M. Coetzee

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Arthur Schopenhauer
